United States Secret Service testing in Chicago in August for positions within the Secret Service

5/17/2006 - LaDeur with the United States Secret Service. In August, we will be testing in Chicago for positions within the Secret Service. U. S. Secret Service Special Agent

Special Agents are charged with two missions; protection and investigations. During the course of their careers, Special Agents carry out assignments in both of these areas.

Protection

The President, Vice President, President Elect and Vice President Elect
Immediate families of the above
Former Presidents and First Ladies, until remarriage
Children of former Presidents until the age of 16
Visiting heads of foreign states/governments and their spouses
Major Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates and spouses
Investigations

Counterfeiting – currency and securities of the United States and foreign governments
Financial Crimes – stolen or forged U.S. government checks and bonds, major credit/debit cards, computer fraud, access device fraud, telecommunications fraud, telemarketing fraud, bank fraud, electronic funds transfer fraud
Requirements:

U. S. Citizen
Between the ages of 21 and 37 at the time of appointment
Have uncorrected vision no worse than 20/60 binocular, correctable to 20/20 in each eye
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (or) have three years of criminal investigative or law enforcement work experience (or) a combination of education and law enforcement work experience
Weight and height proportional
Must pass the Treasury Enforcement Agent Exam
Pass a comprehensive medical examination, demonstrating excellent health and physical condition
Successfully pass a polygraph test
Qualify for a Top Secret clearance

U. S. Secret Service Uniform Division Officers

The Uniform Division’s mission is protection. Officers accomplish this mission through a network of fixed posts, vehicular and foot patrols, and special support programs. The Uniform Division is composed of three branches – the White House Branch, Foreign Missions Branch, and the Naval Observatory Branch. Together they provide protection for the following:

The President and Vice President of the United States and their immediate families
The White House complex
The Vice President’s residence
The Main Treasury Department Building and it’s annex facility
Foreign diplomatic missions in the Washington DC metropolitan area
Requirements:

Able and willing to relocate to the Washington DC area
U. S. Citizen
Between the ages of 21 and 37 at the time of appointment
Have uncorrected vision no worse than 20/60 binocular, correctable to 20/20 in each eye
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Weight and height proportional
Must pass the Police Officer Selection Test
Pass a comprehensive medical examination, demonstrating excellent health and physical condition
Successfully pass a polygraph test
Qualify for a Top Secret clearance
