| article in Britain's THE ECONOMIST: Cheer up Poles and outsiders alike are too gloomy 5/17/2006 - In Media Watch for May 14, there is a link to an article in Britain's THE
ECONOMIST:
Cheer up
Poles and outsiders alike are too gloomy. Despite the country's fractious
politics, its prospects are bright and its problems solvable

This is but the first of a series of articles on Poland, one in the magazine's
SURVEY series. There is a story about Defense Minister Radek Sikorski, whose
wife used to work for that publication. Not all of the articles are as positive
as the lead one, however - some make arguments that are just plain petty.
Particularly, the "openly avowed Catholicism" (Economist's term) of Poland's
current leaders seems to annoy the West no end.
It is in the issue May 13-19 2006, with the cover headline "Axis of Feeble."
The
other articles are available online to paid subscribers only, but the printed
issue is widely available on newsstands. Information on obtaining reprints is
given in the magazine. Highly recommended.
