The American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS) Foundation will award approximately 10 scholarships of $750 each, to students participating in our summer program at the Polonia Institute of the Jagie

9/10/2002 - The American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS) Foundation will award approximately 10 scholarships of $750 each, to students participating in our summer program at the Polonia Institute of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland.

The American Institute For Foreign Study was founded in 1964 and arranges each year for over 50,000 students to study and travel abroad on a wide range of programs. The College Division of AIFS organizes study abroad programs for American University students in approximately 15 countries during academic year as well as summer.

The scholarships have been established by donors to the AIFS Foundation to enhance bilateral relations between the United States and Poland by giving American students the opportunity to take courses in Polish language, history and culture at the Polonia Institute of Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland.

Students will be selected on the basis of merit by the AIFS Foundation. No prior knowledge of Polish is required but students will be expected t take a Polish language course. The program is open to college students, including those who plan to enter college in the United States in 2003. AIFS Scholarship Bonus - AIFS will award an additional $750 to each student who receives an AIFS Foundation Kraków Scholarship, bringing the total scholarship money to $1,500.

We are currently promoting our 2003 summer program in Krakow, and we are interested in advertising in Polish publications to stimulate interest. We would be grateful if you could send us the contact information of any Polish publications you know of where we could advertise, or any travel agents, or Polish schools or associations who may be interested in our program. Below you will find the address of our Krakow website: www.aifs.com/college/routing/poland.htm I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely, Gerry Kerr
Assistant Director of Programs
AIFS College Division
