| Do you remember listening to Radio Free Europe? looking for people who have great stories to tell about RFE and its impact 9/3/2006 - Do you remember listening to Radio Free Europe? Do you have stories to tell about what it meant to listen to this station in times of crisis? Did listen to Radio Free Europe change your life? Did you come to the West because of RFE? And what do you think about RFE today?
The renowned German documentary filmmaker Christian Bauer is looking for people who have great stories to tell about RFE and its impact, and who are willing to share them for his documentary The Great Radio War. Of course we will tell how RFE worked, how it was financed, and the stories of the journalists and DJs at RFE. But all this would be incomplete without the people who listened, the human side of it all. We feel that the Cold war did not end in blood and tears, also was a victory of RFE (and Radio Liberty of course). If you share this view – or if you disagree – we would like to listen to your opinion and your stories. The true story of Radio Free Europe has not been told on film. The right time is now.
The Great Radio War will be a 90-minute-documentary. With your participation we hope that it will travel around the world to tell about the human side of the cold war.
