BROADWAY MARKET KICKS OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH FOOD TASTINGS

Buffalo, New York" The holiday season is upon us! Everywhere we turn, there are reminders not only of Halloween, but Thanksgiving and Christmas as well. While most of us may not be ready to start our search for the perfect gifts or to "deck the halls" i'ts never too early to think about the special foods that are so much a part of our family celebrations.

With that in mind, the Broadway Market is jump-starting the holidays with an exciting new program. Savor the Flavor of the Broadway Market offers the chance to learn about the Market eastern European traditions, while sampling some of the foods that have made the Market famous for generations. Chances are, those same foods have graced your family table for many years as well.

Although the new Savor the Flavor program will be targeted mainly to bus groups, the public is invited to take part in a special demonstration on Saturday, October 21 at 11:00A.M. Prepaid reservations are required and the price of $11 per person includes samples of a selection of sausages, tub butter, polish pastries and fresh produce. Participants will receive a complimentary recipe card and a chance to win a Broadway Market souvenir. The tasting will be presented by Taste of Home Magazine's WNY Field Editor and Slow Food Buffalo member Sandy Starks. Sandy's mother, Buffalo's own Premier Sewing Instructor Helen Grabowski, will make a special guest appearance and will be handing out copies of a few of her favorite Polish recipes.

World-renowned master chef Julia Child is quoted as saying, You dont have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces “ just good food from fresh ingredients. So whether you are planning ahead to your holiday menu, or just thinking of some comfort foods for the cold months ahead, the Broadway Market is the place to be. For further information or to make a reservation, call Your Buffalo Tours at 839-5150 or visit the website at www.YourBuffaloTours.com.
